Speciesism - like racism, sexism, ableism, etc. - is a form of discrimination, based on the presumption that the human species dominates over another species. As all types of discrimination, speciesism too is unethical and unjust. Like other forms of discrimination, it is difficult to overcome because we have conditioned ourselves socially to not even acknowledge it. The good news is that discriminat...

To Those Who Ignored Us -
You didn't really ignore us. You may have tried your hardest not to look, but we saw you - the quick glances, the miniscule squints, the short grimaces - before you went onward to crossing the street.

Intervention #3 All Animals Want To Live – Museum Of Food And Drink (MOFAD), Manhattan, NY
By Kate Skwire
Each intervention we do is a lesson on how to deliver the most effective message for animals that we can and sometimes, that means a lot of improvisation. You never know exactly how it’s going to go down and the same was true for our intervention at the Museum of Food and Drink’s roundtable discussion on the future of meat. Nonetheless, we still had a very positive impact and learned a lot. Initially, we intended to disrupt the discussion to tell the animals’ stories, because we expected their point of view would be missing from the discussion. We had signs featuring different animals and had each rehearsed a short speech for ...

Why Veganism Is Not Enough
By Raffaella Ciavatta
How wonderful would it be if all we needed to do to abolish the wrongs in our world was to not commit these same wrongs ourselves in the first place? Want to end sexism? Don't be sexist! Let's focus on Animal Rights and veganism. Many vegans believe that ...
